The process includes cleaning the material, and making them physically, chemically and biologically pure. Sewage water is accumulated and transported by a network of pump stations and pipes. Being a complete centralized procedure, the entire process is known as a centralized system. The borders between the centralized and the decentralized process can be variable.
The by-product of the entire process is a semi-solid or a slurry residue, technically called as sewage sludge. The sewage sludge will then face a rigorous treatment, before it can be disposed into the water-bodies.
Features of the MBR Sewage Water Treatment System
Some other form of by-products will face the ultra-filtration membranes to remove the excess sludge. The process is termed as MBR or Membrane Bioreactor. This part of the cleaning process involves treating the material biologically, tertiary treatment and clarification is one single step. The MBR has more robust operation and design. The better quality of the effluent now can be used in many other fields, like in cooling system make-up water.
